Dear CPS Families,
Today we’re launching the Chicago Schools Blog to connect with you about what matters most to all of us: working together to give our kids a good education. We are glad you’ve decided to visit and hope that you will become a regular reader.
Through photos, video and stories, we will share with you all the great things that are happening in our schools while giving you the information you need to support our students, from pre-K to graduation. And we’ll talk candidly about some of the issues facing the district.
We’ll introduce you to our District’s leaders, who will discuss everything from the food your child is eating in school to the scholarship opportunities that could help them succeed in college. We’ll show you what our teachers and principals are doing in the classroom, and highlight the tremendous gains our students are making academically, through athletics and the arts, and through the many other programs that make our schools so unique. And we’ll help you understand the district’s financial challenges, and how we can overcome those challenges together.
Thank you for helping us start the school year strong, with a record 94.8 percent of your children arriving for class on the first day. In the months ahead, we’ll continue to keep you updated here, so please check back often. And if there is an issue you want us to address, or a CPS story you would like to see featured here, please tell us about it at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
