DISTRICT | April 19, 2017
This is an exciting time for Chicago Public Schools as we unveiled our new Vision. This Vision takes a comprehensive look at where we are as a district and where we need to go to build a prosperous future for our children and the City of Chicago.
I invite you to read the report at cps.edu/vision.
This document is a roadmap for the next three years at CPS. It outlines our three core commitments to pursue Academic Progress, secure Financial Stability for our district, and improve Integrity across the whole of CPS. It celebrates our successes, including the outstanding progress our students are making academically, and lays out strategies for helping every child reach their full potential.
This Vision could not have been created without the input and expertise of stakeholders like you. For months we have met with parents, teachers, principals and community partners to better understand your needs. Then we worked hard to incorporate your input into the creation of our Vision.
I want to thank you for the role you played in this process, as well as for your continued support of our civil rights lawsuit and appeals to Springfield. Your contribution and continued engagement have been and will continue to be critical to moving CPS forward.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore our new Vision and gain a better understanding of the direction CPS is headed. As always, we welcome your feedback and thank you for your continued support of Chicago Public Schools.
